Utah Bill: Raise taxes on EV charging, cut taxes on gas
As states grapple with an accelerating transition to Electric Vehicles, a Utah lawmaker charts a different path to tax fairness
A bill pending in the Utah state legislature would take an unusual route to collect revenue on new Electric Vehicles (EVs): It would impose a $130.25 fee on EVs, and a new tax on public charging, while cutting the state’s gasoline tax.
